Rising meteorically three years back, Dada Life put all their bananas in one basket with their Rules of Dada album. Laying it all on the table and supplying enough of their unmistakable sound to warrant a hiatus, the duo’s production work now comes sparingly. Refusing to shake loose their persona, Dada release their second original track of the year (and since Rules). Remaining in character for “One Smile,” the twosome put on their expected game face, with both playing into the titling and offering an arrangement of their boings, clashes, and booms. Only a slight robotic twist on vocal sampling comes modernized as Olle and Stefan’s collective smile is their ear-to-ear circa 2011. Maybe someone should feed the Dada.
