When Electric Daisy Carnival takes to the desert, its impact stretches far beyond the satisfied fans and expansion of creative boundaries. The annual June weekend-turned-week long festivities have historically sent surges into the Las Vegas economy, this year’s run most likely being no different.
Estimating EDC’s significance to Sin City, billboardbiz sums up the spending in one simple chart. Calculating a total of $158 million spent by festival attendees; the total value being a product of food and beverage, hotel rooms, transportation, gaming, entertainment, and retail spending, in respect to contribution. Also with great effect, Electric Daisy Carnival’s occupancy of Las Vegas resulted in tax revenue reaching $20 million and labor income increasing over $130 million.
