Guy Gerber and Diddy reveal ‘My Heart,’ first single from collaborative album ’11 11′
Guy Gerber and Diddy have sent whispers and progressively more public dialogue between the worlds of deep house and hip-hop in announcing a full-length collaborative project. Together, the two ready 11 11, a full length album that’d mark a graceful entrance into the dance world for Diddy and anticipated experimentation from Gerber. Finally letting loose a taste from the talks, the duo drop first single “My Heart,” where a dark yet majestic house track manifests.
Gerber takes production duties prominently and the record flaunts sublime vocal murmurs with urban twang opposed to full-throttle hip-hop verses that could’ve been expected. Opposed to impacting simply with lyrics, Diddy’s influence on “My Heart” is cerebral and felt on all facets, with the final product resembling the aesthetic his 2010 studio album Last Train To Paris, a full-length body of work that’s considered more musical piece with a hip-hop backdrop then a rap album.
