Guy Gerber and Diddy unveil ‘Tourist Trap,’ will release ’11 11′ album for free this summer
Guy Gerber and Diddy connected in 2010, producing the introduction for Dirty Money’s Last Train To Paris album. While that collaboration resulted in only 90 seconds of music, the two have very publicly reunited to recreate the magic for a full length album. The project, entitled 11 11 is due to be released at the end of the summer, free of charge, and has already begun unveiling. Putting plans in motion with “My Heart” as a first impression, Gerber and Diddy find similar common grounds for their follow up “Tourist Trap.”
Still deep house rooted, the latest embodies ghostly, even sublime emotion that plays into intangible instrumentation. If the first two offerings are indicative of the whole body of work, 11 11 is shaping up to be to house music what Kanye West’s Yeezus was to hip-hop, what Lorde’s Pure Heroin was to pop, or what Coldplay’s Ghost Stories was to alternative rock – something that transcends both its genre and its creators.
