Lorde – Tennis Court (Diplo’s Andre Agassi Remix)
Two months ago, Flume unveiled his take on Lorde’s “Tennis Court,” a rework that still remains a fan favorite. In effort to meet and potentially challenge the high bar set for remixing Lorde’s single, today, Diplo has released his own “Tennis Court” remix. While many have already offered their opinions in preference of remixes, Diplo’s puts forward something entirely different. The producer’s rendition of “Tennis Court” blurs lines between chillwave bass and party-ready trap. Though his own title pays playful homage to former No. 1 tennis player Andre Agassi, the all-American influences end there. Shying away from his familiar twerk-ready and heavy sounds, Diplo instead intertwines hypnotic whines of an exotic instrument around the young New Zealand singer’s apathetic chorus flow.
