Michael Jackson – Slave to the Rhythm (Audien Remix)
Not once has Audien cut corners, opted for an easy route, or refused to step to the plate. From the start of his career, he’s boasted his talent with a fearless approach to producing. The result of such a work ethic has resulted in a slew of grade-A originals and some of the most revered remixes pumped throughout the dance circuit and beyond. His latest work is perhaps his most high-profile since giving Justin Bieber’s “As Long As You Love Me” a facelift, and although his remix of Bastille’s “Pompeii” is going to be difficult to top as best of the year, Audien’s creating more space to impress as he’s been tapped for an official remix of Michael Jackson’s latest single. Straight from The King Of Pop’s posthumous Xscape album comes “Slave to the Rhythm,” the same record that a holographic Michael Jackson performed at this year’s Billboard Awards. The track is a refurbished tune from the archives of MJ’s unreleased music — modernized but with his signature, timeless pop allure. Audien does wonders with “Slave to the Rhythm,’ bringing it even closer to today’s preferences with an electro-laden club feel that warps frenetically around the late Jackson’s vocals.
