Robin Thicke – Forever Love (Afrojack Remix)
by: Dylan Farella
Jul 30, 2014
Robin Thicke dropped his newest studio album yesterday, just one week shy of last summer’s Blurred Lines. Where the 2013 release embodied pop, dance, and fun-loving styles in-between, Paula is R&B rooted, an outwards expression from Thicke to his ex-wife whom the album is named after. Certainly no club banger or radio-fit work such as “Blurred Lines,” the potential areas to explore for remixers opposes examples that manifested from the aforementioned hit.
First stepping up to the plate, Afrojack lends his hand to closing track “Forever Love.” Transforming the melody and its woozy-vocals, Afrojack enchants delicately behind the soft-sung Thicke before shifting into a new gear — energetic enough for a facelift, but keeping the original theme at arm’s-length
