Tom Swoon releases ‘Holika,’ donates €2 per purchase to charity
The steady wave of anticipation that “Holika” has built since its premiere on Danny Howard’s BBC Radio 1 show back in June can finally be silenced. As Polish DJ Tom Swoon‘s newest progressive house single, the tune makes its official debut on Ultra Records.
Although his latest effort is already backed by the likes of Deniz Koyu and Dash Berlin, “Holika” is a song that brings more than powerful synthesizers and percussion to the table. It’s a homage to the Indian culture, as you might notice from the Eastern-influenced chants that exude a steady undertone throughout the track. “Holika” is a name from Hindu mythology, stemming from a tale about the triumphs of good over evil. In a perfect parallel, Swoon hopes to do the same with his new efforts to stop child poverty.
