Tomorrowland named top festival with heaviest ticket demand in the world, market for weekend two tickets rise

As the second sold-out weekend of Tomorrowland nears, Forbes and the world’s largest ticketing marketplace Viagogo have calculated and revealed some not-so-surprising results about the popularity of Belgium’s premier festival. Although the additional weekend was added in efforts to quench the insanely high demands for Tomorrowland tickets, it seems as though the appetite for the coveted passes has only risen since the conclusion of the first weekend.

Marked at a 317% increase from the first weekend to weekend two, Viagogo analyzes that positive reviews and streams of the weekend’s incredible performances have seemingly spurred on hopeful attendees to comb for extra tickets.

Demand has spiked hugely over the past 72 hours, with people snapping up last minute bargains.  We’ve also seen overall demand for international festivals skyrocket on our site this year, as part of a growing trend for people to combine their summer holiday with a festival experience.”

Forbes concludes by stating that Tomorrowland clocks in with the most extreme demand across all international festivals, beating out Australia’s Stereosonic and Southern California’s Coachella in second and third, according to rankings from Viagogo.

Las Vegas’ Electric Daisy Carnival trails behind in fourth place, the UK’s Isles of Wight in fifth and Ultra Music Festival at eighth.
