19-year-old girl passes away at HARD Summer
Following reports of over 100 arrests at this year’s HARD Summer, HARD has also confirmed the death of a 19-year-old woman on Sunday of the festival. According to LA Weekly, the woman’s death may have been due to a drug overdose but the final cause of death and the woman’s identity is not yet available.
HARD Summer released the following statement:
During Sunday evening’s event held at the Whittier Narrows Recreation Area, a patron had seizures and sadly passed away at the hospital this morning. Our thoughts and prayers go out to her family and friends.
Our guests’ safety and well being is of great importance at every event. We have skilled EMT’s, law enforcement and security staff deployed on site to respond to any emergency situation and last night members of this emergency team were with this patron within minutes and she was promptly transported after receiving the initial call. We work closely with local health and safety authorities to prepare for emergencies and set the staffing levels for each event.
