Bananarama – Cruel Summer (Ghosts Of Venice Edit)
Ghosts Of Venice may be best known for more elaborate productions like his original track “By My Side” and remixes of Grum’s “Can’t Shake This Feeling” and Bit Funk’s “She’s Got Two Hearts,” but he’s also unsurprisingly adept at whipping up more simple edits. He’s taken the end of summer as an excuse to spruce up Bananarama‘s 1983 hit single “Cruel Summer.” In many ways it’s reminiscent of his take on Shakira’s “She Wolf”: he takes an impressive pop song with disco flair and touches it up a bit, most notably by extending instrumental segments and adding tasteful percussion. And much like his “She Wolf” edit, Ghost of Venice’s take on “Cruel Summer” – which is available as a free download via his SoundCloud page – is a necessary component to any balanced iTunes library.
