Indonesian marvel Angger Dimas emerged and made an early name for himself through productions of Dirty Dutch-like elements blanketed over jaw-dropping drum work. As one of the most dynamically skilled and energetic DJ/producer hybrids in the scene, Angger’s remixes and bootlegs are often coveted adrenaline-inducing pieces for any spirited DJ set. His latest bootleg of Bingo Player’ 2009 smooth house classic “Devotion” showcases both where the premier Jakartan DJ has been and where his vision has taken him ‘til now. Angger lays down a bulky, resonating kick and echoing snare roll patterns for a percussive-heavy big-room behemoth, a sound by him perhaps not sparked since his club-favored “My Feelings For You” remix from 2010. The Bingo Players recognizably infectious saxophone loop still captures the tune’s spotlight, giving this rework a modern yet nostalgic twist.
