DA Premiere: Moon Boots unleashes ‘Don’t Ask Why’ remix package
As many dance music artists and their followers shift away from popular party-driven tastes to explore the deeper, club-inspired side of the dance spectrum, the US’s own Moon Boots has been delivering the smoothest of blissful material for quite some time. Not only does the mysterious French Express standout have a seamless creative gift, but also displays a level of great generosity in the form of plentiful quality freebies. After tapping the luscious voice of the UK’s previously undiscovered Kyiki for his late February release “Don’t Ask Why,” he’s since earned enough support to warrant a follow-up remix package for release on CR2 Records.
This impressive bundle features a variety of underground-derived sounds, beginning with the suave and tranquil essence of the original indie dance ear candy. Marlon Hoffstadt, perhaps most well-known for last year’s Ibiza summer favorite “Shake That,” gives “Don’t Ask Why” a fresh, more uplifting indie dance rework, while B1G PR0J3CT flips the chilled-out tune into an energetic garage house delight. The remainder of the package contains a series of stunningly diverse deep house remixes, hailing from the moody and atmospheric vibes of HNNY, to LCAW’s serene and purely deep spin, and finally the bass-heavy grooves done right by Vanilla Ice & Barber. Set for an August 25th release, this remix package does the coveted Moon Boots sound justice through a flawlessly hand-picked class of quality producers that breath new life into “Don’t Ask Why.”
