Diplo teases new Jack U track on BBC Radio 1Xtra
For those of us who can’t get enough of the Jack U side project that Skrillex and Diplo have brought to life, a brand new tune from the superstar pair is now available to get down to. In his latest BBC broadcast, streamed from XS Nightclub, Diplo opens with a moment of nostalgia as he recounts the days before Vegas was in the dance music business. A few short years later, Mad Decent’s head honcho chooses what he considers to be the,” epicenter of all DJ culture” to premiere his new collaborative material with Skrillex; perhaps some of the most anxiously awaited music across the electronic spectrum. Wes dives head first into one of his roof-raising club sets as he warms up the crowd for brand new music, and at nearly a half an hour in, drops the high anticipated Jack U selection.
The tune, which remains nameless for now, is a dance floor rattling twerk tune, designed to send massive crowds into spastic frenzies. Reminiscent of Diplo’s world-dominating “Express Yourself” which thrust the twerk trend into the limelight last year, the new Jack U track has serious potential to make its own inescapable waves. The rump-shaking mid tempo ID comes in right at 29:50, where Diplo tantalizes the crowd with the bubbly, bouncy synth arrangement and party-primed hip-hop samples.
With a Jack U mixtape on the way, along with a headlining slot at HARD Summer in the bag and one at Electric Zoo right around the corner, the super duo that is taking over the world is in higher demand than ever. Skip through the mix to the 30-minute mark to cut right to the chase, or enjoy streaming the whole session here.
