Two pass away at Toronto’s VELD Music Festival; homicide investigation underway
Over the weekend on the West Coast, a 19-year-old passed away at HARD Summer following reports of over 100 arrests. On the East Coast in Toronto, VELD Music Festival was holding its third annual gathering of electronic music’s biggest names and the fans that crave their music. Tragedy struck again, as two individuals have passed away from what are believed to be “party drugs.”
According to Global News, a 20-year-old female and a 22-year-old male lost their lives and were among a total of fifteen attendees hospitalized at the event. Earlier reports say that the male was being aggressive and had to be restrained in the ambulance as he was being treated by paramedics before passing away on the way to the hospital. Toronto Police have urged anyone who bought substances at the festival to turn them over to police, while the city’s homicide unit has launched a full investigation into the tragic event.
