Avicii reveals sophomore album title ‘Stories,’ single releases October 3rd
The oft-overlooked tradeoff of constant touring is the inability to properly record and promote new music. DJs, in the constant frenzy of international stardom, can miss out on opportunities to work their studio magic. Avicii, who recently made his way back home to fully recover from his March Winter Music Conference surgery, has not forgotten about the fresh music; TIm Bergling has declared that he already has over 80 tracks in line for his forthcoming album. The followup to Avicii’s platinum selling True will be entitled Stories, as has been hinted by both Tim and his manager for months, and will release in 2015. “The Days,” a single from the album previewed on a recent Ralph Lauren Denim & Supply campaign, will be released October 3rd.
The Swedish star has amassed a massive fan base over the last few years following major success that boomed first in within the electronic music scene, but spread quickly across fans of folk, pop, and country alike. Smashes “Wake Me Up” and “Addicted To You” dominated airwaves for months. While not much is known as to what direction Tim Bergling will take in his late project, he has previewed a number of songs through live performances on his recent show stops. “The Nights,” Avicii’s latest track to surface, was featured on the FIFA 15 soundtrack and it is unknown as to whether the track will appear on the album, but if confirmation of “The Days” is any indication it seems likely the production will find its way onto the tracklist.
