Disney officially files opposition to deadmau5’s trademark

In April, we reported that Disney would be investigating deadmau5’s pending US trademark registration for the mau5head and now, five months later, the official opposition has been filed.  TMZ reports that Joel already holds 30 trademarks throughout the world – including Japan, Germany and the UK, but Disney believes that granting him a trademark in the United States will severely damage their business. Disney attests that its mouse symbol has been an icon for over 60 years and, as usual, Joel couldn’t care less – the outspoken producer is prepared to go to court to challenge the massive corporation’s team of lawyers.

His most recent legal bout didn’t end in his favor after he was forced to remove the Purrari skins from his own Ferrari.
