Watch This: Jack U unveil AlunaGeorge collaboration ‘To U’ at Burning Man
Super-duo dance music elites Jack U have finally begun to roll out what we have all been waiting for, new music. Rare festival appearances and block party rendezvous kept fans at bay for a while but now it seems that voracious appetites have taken over, and thankfully, Skrillex and Diplo are starting to deliver. Hype around the two globetrotting superstar producers never seems to fade, especially when the two find themselves behind the decks together. Burning Man a few weeks ago was no different, and even though rumors of booing and ill-received DJ Snake tracks dampened the festivities momentarily, it seems as though Jack U didn’t miss a beat in Black Rock City.
The latest video from the famed desert gathering finds the pair at Camp Question Mark doing what they do best. The video begins towards the end of one of their multiple sets from the week. What better time to crowd-test their most anticipated material yet, their forthcoming collaboration with AlunaGeorge, “To U.” The tune provides a backbone of thumping drum kicks and snare hits behind Aluna Francis’ pristine vocal work to introduce the collaboration. Then the tracks builds to a quick vocal loop before a knocking break of synth layers that pop and hiss around crisp hi-hat rolls. The second break chops melodic vocal samples throughout rapid electro stabs and growling swells of bass, as Skrillex and Diplo bring the best of both worlds to the dusty Burning Man crowd.
As the Jack U tag-team begin to tease their collaborations that have been kept tightly under wraps until now, we can only hope that the mixtape the pair have promised may be just around the bend. Check out “To U” at around 3:30 into the video above.
