Wyclef Jean enlists Avicii for upcoming album single, ‘Divine Sorrow’
Following a seemingly endless stream of innovative collaboration announcements and a rigorous worldwide touring schedule, it’s an unfortunate but understood surprise that Avicii is cancelling all remaining shows for the rest of the year for his health. However, only days before announcing the break, the producer managed to wrap his summer residency at Ibiza’s Ushuaia with a bang: a guest performance from Wyclef Jean and an exclusive preview of a new collaboration set to unveil in 2015.
We first heard news about a brewing Wyclef Jean and Avicii collaboration in July when the True artist announced several exciting and unexpected partnerships for his upcoming music. Avicii’s manager Ash Pournouri has taken the reigns on co-producing Jean’s seventh studio album and has now combined his two proud projects together. “Divine Sorrow” is slated to be the first single from Wycelf’s forthcoming album Clefication and will release in the spring of the coming year.
Although an official preview remains to be unveiled of the anticipated track, a short, choppy video of the two debuting “Divine Sorrow” at Ushuaia has surfaced. Fast forward to the 2:20 mark for a fleeting preview of the Wyclef Jean and Avicii collaboration to come.
