Scoping labels, talents and brands from across the industry spectrum, there is quite literally something for every taste under the sun throughout the vibrant Dutch capital October 15 through October 19. Paradiso Presents: Buraka Som Sistema

When: Wednesday October 15

What’s the story? The masters of the ubiquitous ‘Kuduro’ sound and an energetic blend of electronic dance music unparalleled by any international peers, seeing is believing when Buraka Som Sistema comes to town.Though short but sweet, their showcase for Amsterdam Dance Event is the perfect induction for anyone yet to witness their hard-hitting and original stamp on the dance floor. Expect hip swinging, soul shaking and energetically charged beats from start to finish from an outfit with one of the most uniquely charged appeals within the modern industry. 

Suara, Rejected, Food Music, Knee Deep In Sound Showcase

When: Thursday October 16

What’s the story? Four of the globe’s hottest house imprints go head-to-head for a night with more impressive headline activity than other showcase on the program. Main room action from Joris Voorn, Nic Fanciuli, Hot Since 82 and Deetron is matched with the likes of Tube & Berger, Dosem and Suara’s own Coyu across the hall. Shadow Child and Friend Within represent Food Music in WesterUnie’s third room, topping an essential pit stop for anyone claiming to have their fingers on the pulse of what’s hot within underground house music.

Awakenings Presents Drumcode

Where: Gasshouder

When: Thursday October 16

What’s the story? Don’t let their recent acquisition by SFX fool you, Awakenings is still one of the most important calendar marks on the underground clubbing calendar in Europe. Amid its packed week of events at Gasshouder, Sweden’s Adam Beyer brings the cream of his techno stronghold into the spotlight for unmissable display of talents from across the label’s global portfolio. With Nicole Moudaber and Alan Fitzpatrick on hand, it spells a night of thunderous techno from some of the best in the game right now.

Hardwell Presents Revealed

Where: Heineken Music Hall

When: Thursday October 16

What’s the story? Revealed Recording’s spotlight moments have inherently been linked to Amsterdam Dance Event. For its fourth annual ADE event, Hardwell and his big room empire land louder and producer than ever before, with staple homeland talents DANNIC, Dyro, Kill The Buzz and many more sealing an essential spotlight into just how far the brand has come. For all the talk of big room loosing its libido, the activity of this Dutch imprint suggests that Revealed didn’t get that particular memo.

Goldfish & Bakermat Present ADE Special

Where: De Overkant

When: Friday October 17

What’s the story? We’re long past the stigma of button pushing, but the instrumentally cleansed elite of electronic music are still finding ways to keep us intrigued. South African duo Goldfish and crossover king Bakermat lead proceeds, with indie dance stronghold Kraak & Smaak joining the ranks for a who’s who night of literally live dance music amid the hustle and bustle of ADE. Add intimate house stronghold Wanklemut and budding Spinnin’ star Watermat and there is more than several reasons for this particular event to be blowing its own trumpet enroute to the conference.

What’s the story? Over the past 15-years, Spinnin’ Records has become a precedent setting imprint serving the European market and beyond. With it’s respective sub-labels also flourishing here in 2014, Heineken Music Hall plays host to a handful of its finest roster offerings, including Martin Garrix, euro trap kingpins Yellow Claw, Jay Hardway and Quintino. Spinnin’ Deep has room two sussed with Oliver Heldens and the like, making October 17 a day of both positive reflection and forward movement for the Dutch indie label that could!.

Amsterdam Music Festival 2014

What’s the story? The crowning of the DJ Mag Top 100 champion is far from one of Amsterdam Dance Event’s most important calendar marks, but the clever people at ID&T and ALDA Events have given it a more than worthy spin over the past two years. Mixing ceremony with concert hype, Amsterdam Music Festival is the conference’s grand finale for many, one that looks to peak considerably for its 2014 edition. With Armin van Buuren, David Guetta and Hardwell along for the ride, AMF couldn’t get much bigger if it tried, bringing the cream of the arena filling dance community to the infamous home of Dutch football for a larger than life night of music.

FLOW Showcase

What’s the story? With a legacy split between Defected, OFF Recordings and a host of renowned imprints, Franky Rizardo has fast become one his nations hottest house prospects. After a huge season in Ibiza at both Ushuaia and BOOOM, the Dutch heavyweight returns to the motherland with a host of friends equally determined to bring the groove back to the forefront of modern house music. Andre Crohm, Chi Thanh, Chocolate Puma and Copyright lead the assault alongside such accomplished European players as Ferreck Dawn and a host of assorted talents, with the main man himself showing just how much weight his budding FLOW brand already holds on dance floors across the continents.

DGTL Presents Kompakt

What’s the story? Infamous cologne record store turned staple underground imprint Kompakt is testament to how good music can endure the changing tides of this industry. With a series of pop-up events already scoped for the duration of the conference, Michael Meyer, Wolfgang Vogit and Jürgen Paape’s legacy has one hell of a sign-off on the cards for the 2014 edition of the five-day event. This is the worlds first opportunity to see what Kolsch and Abelton Live have been working on behind the scenes for his latest live concept, not to mention a wonderful chance to see Gui Boratto, Troels Ambrahamsen, BLOND:ISH and a host of label favorites all under one roof.

Nosia Invites

What’s the story? When Noisia strikes up a party on home soil, you can count on it following suit with their fierce global reputation. The invitations are out and for this years ADE, the Dutch trio has a considerably high caliber party on their hands. Chase & Status, ƱZ, Wilkinson and the eclectic trio themselves lead the assault for a who’s who of bass favoring heavyweights, with a befitting surge of local and under-the-radar talent promising a far from quiet affair from the homeland stronghold and their rather loud peer group.

Redlight by Kryder

What’s the story?British heavyweight Kryder has taken the industry with relentless force throughout 2014, making his inaugural hosting duties among the ADE program all the more befitting for this year’s edition. With more fine specimens of European big room talent between its four walls than any other party on the grid, the British heavyweight is set to showoff his peer group for a fine night of musical debauchery. Longtime collaborator Tom Staar joins the ranks of Arno Cost, Norman Doray, Sebjak, Dimitri Vangelis & Wyman and American import ANSOLO, securing the cream of the crop for everything and more you need to know about what’s good on the European front and beyond for 2014.

Hospital Records & ADE Present Hospitality

Where: Paradiso

When: Thursday October 16

What’s the story? The past 18-years have seen Hospital Records establish themselves as a fortress for the preservation of British drum & bass. As one of the few coherent showcases dedicated to the genre on this year’s party calendar, Tony Colman and Chris Gross’s high-octane empire is out in full force once again for 2014. Label staples High Contrast, Camo & Krooked, Fred V & Graffix and Colman’s own London Elektricity moniker make for a line-up scaling the sound’s various dimensions, one that has attained both chart appeal and dance floor kudos through the label’s intensely focused guise.
