Dillon Francis adds his touch to the deadmau5 classic ‘Some Chords’
A wave of deadmau5 remixes are on the horizon and Dillon Francis joins the charge with his own exclusive remix of the 4×4=12 classic, “Some Chords.” Flexing his production muscle, Dillon accompanies the original’s now iconic chord progressions with a fervent spattering of electro house chops and chirping synthesis. Francis does well to rekindle 2010’s love for blistering electro, utilizing many of the sounds that permeated the dance music zeitgeist back when “Some Chords” was first released. It’s a bit of a shift in style for the “IDGAFOS” producer, but it acts as a fitting homage to both deadmau5 and the culture he helped foster.
The remix comes hot on the heels of 3 equally inventive cuts from Fehrplay, Nom De Strip, and Tujamo who will also be joining a host of other talents on the 2-disc, 5 years of Mau5 remix compilation.
