Eric Prydz helps re-score 2011 blockbuster, ‘Drive’

Eric Prydz is finally putting his magic to movie scoring. He’s one of several pioneers in the electronic and indie music circuits who have been hard at work in the studio on a new soundtrack for 2011’s blockbuster Drive starring Ryan Gosling.

It’s all part of Zane Lowe‘s ‘Radio 1 Rescores’ project, an endeavor he’s called “the most exciting thing that this show has ever been involved with.” For the project’s first undertaking, Lowe has commissioned some of the brightest names in music to make an entirely new soundtrack for the movie. In addition to Prydz, the project’s collaborators include fellow producers SBTRKT, Jon Hopkins, and Baauer alongside a diverse pool of artists such as ChvrchesBastille, BANKS, Bring Me The Horizon, Foals, Laura Mvula, the 1975, the Neighbourhood, and ZCC.

One year after beginning production, the finished project is finally ready to air. Fans will be able to watch the re-scored version of the movie October 30 on BBC Three. While nothing has yet been revealed about future Radio 1 Rescores, here’s a preview of what’s in store for Drive.
