Although summer just passed in the western hemisphere, Australia’s Future Music Festival just dropped their first phase lineup for Summer ’15. It’s safe to say this announcement is hair-raising. Not only will Avicii be making his triumphant return back to the touring circuit after the release of his upcoming album, but headlining alongside the Swedish producer are legendary, electronic-music pioneers The Prodigy and rap heavyweight Drake, who will be making his first appearance in Australia.
In addition to the massive headliners, the festival’s lineup is packed with an array of acts that satisfies anyone’s tastes. From Nero to Afrojack to Gorgon City to Martin Garrix to Tchami to Kiesza, Future Music Festival will be a tough act to follow in 2015 with such diversity. In addition, Sven Väth will be bringing his experience “Cocoon” with Art Department, Apollonia, and many others to keep the underground fans appeased. As well, summer wouldn’t be complete without bringing the tropical house vibes down under courtesy of Robin Schulz and Klingande. Check out the first phase of the lineup below.
To introduce this unparalleled lineup, Future Music Festival created a highly-entertaining, emoji-inspired announcement video to a mix of the festival acts’ hit songs. The festival will be taking over five Australian cities starting with Sydney on February 28th. Tickets are on sale Thursday, October 30th, via the festival’s website.
