Giraffage – Tell Me (Original Mix)
Charlie Yin, formally known as Giraffage, is still just days fresh off of Porter Robinson’s massive North American Worlds Tour but already diving head first back into his music. Just three weeks away from the anticipated release of his EP No Reason, the San Francisco native has unveiled a taste of what to expect from his five upcoming originals. Long time fans of Giraffage will be surprised to discover that “Tell Me,” along with the rest of his EP track list, are completely free of his usual staple of samples.
Though samples have been taken out of the equation, “Tell Me” instantly reads with Giraffage’s familiar signature. It’s a breath of fresh air: Droplets of garage house tones replace a time tried ‘EDM drop,’ which play under synth drives and layers of soothing vocal manipulations. Look out for Giraffage’s five-track EP No Reason, arriving on Fool’s Gold soon.
