Guy Gerber Channels Ibiza on North American Fall Club Tour
For all our mega clubs, million dollar sound systems and awe-inspiring light shows, America could stand to learn a thing or two about the power of the intimate after hours set. Sure, we’re learning little by little – but as a culture in general, we can’t seem to shake our love of flashy shit, bangers and four-on-the-floor beats.
Guy Gerber is determined to change that, or at least try. Now that Ibiza’s summer party season is officially over, the Supplement Facts label boss is bringing his Rumors dance party from the White Isle to the States. The Rumors experience focuses on a creating more personal club experience between the DJ and the revelers, something Gerber grew up with in the Israeli music and club scene and has always striven to maintain. The music is usually darker and more experimental than what you’d expect from a peak hours headlining club performance.
“My concerts aren’t these epic things that are supposed to be the best parties in the world,” Gerber told Billboard in an interview. “They’re a little more intimate, a little more quirky.”
The tour, which commences October 24 in LA, will span 16 dates across clubs in America, Canada, Mexico and Puerto Rico, including three days in Miami for Art Basel in December. Fans can expect to hear plenty of independent work interwoven with material from his recent 11 11 album.
