Following stints on Warner Brother and Universal Records where he remixed Tegan & Sara and Enrique Iglesias respectively, Vice finds himself in slightly unfamiliar territory on his latest rework. His return to the studio comes in the form of a fiendish remix of Australian soul/funk tastemakers, The Bamboos. Vice runs their latest single “Avenger” through the electro ringer, stripping the track of its funky foundations before injecting a heavy dose of screaming synthesis into the mix. The vocals still shine as they did from the start, but it’s Vice’s club-primed style that brings the track full circle – from indie funk to fast-paced floor shaker.
