DA’s Sunday Morning Medicine: Volume 91

Sunday Morning Medicine is a feature from Dancing Astronaut dedicated to the mellower side of electronic music. We bring you our favorite therapeutic selections — old and new — in an attempt to alleviate the agonizing effects of a long weekend of partying.

1. Dinnerdate has been making a name for himself recently with his distinct, downtempo flair. At the very beginning of his career, the German producer remixed the Editors’ indie single, “Honesty,” injecting soft synths and percussion to deliver an tranquil atmosphere

2. Chrome Sparks made waves early on with his Sparks EP. A favorite from the release, “Your Planet” draws inspiration from natural effects, like trickling rainfall, to give new life to the track’s electronic backbone.

Nicolas Jaar beautifully reimagined Maceo Plex’s “Gravy Train” to pay tribute to both producers’ Hispanic heritage. Jaar blends deep and tech house elements with Spanish-inspired instruments to create a harmony of cultures.

4. Poolside’s ‘Daytime Disco’ brand comes in handy for those Sundays where all you want to do is lay by the pool. Revisit summer with their laid-back edit of “Fly Away.”

5. Polish Ambassador defines his sound through a combination of gritty yet soothing bass lines and tropical percussion arrangements. Ayla Nereo provides the perfect vocal treatment for his style on their collaboration, “Conversation Between.”
