David Guetta to remix ‘Do They Know it’s Christmas?’

Originally released in 1984, “Do They Know It’s Christmas” premiered with a group of popular British and Irish musicians at the time, joined together under a name given to them by the songwriter, Bob Geldof. Dubbed Band Aid, the team’s holiday song was released in an effort to help relieve the mid 80’s famine in Ethiopia. The song has been re-recorded several times throughout the years, and with this year’s Ebola outbreak, a modern day edition has hit the shelves with the likes of Bono, Ellie Goulding, Bastille and Sam Smith to form Band Aid 30. Now, Mr. Geldof has asked one of dance music’s biggest superstars to create a dance-worthy remake of the track to help raise more money for Ebola relief, David Guetta.

This won’t be the first time French DJ Guetta contributes his talents to charitable causes. In 2012 and 2013, he partnered with the (RED) campaign against AIDS to help build brand awareness and raise money through music. He’s also worked with the United Nations in the past. Nicely done, David.
