Giorgio Moroder releases new single and announces first album in 30 years
Giorgio Moroder vaulted back into electronic music’s bright spotlight alongside Daft Punk on the Grammy Award winning Random Access Memories, and now the disco legend has announced an album of his own. Building on the momentum that was established last year, the pioneer’s newest album will be utilizing the talents of Britney Spears, Sia, Charlie XCX, and Kylie Minogue among others. Slated for a release sometime in 2015, the three time Grammy Award winner’s recent announcement doesn’t include Lana Del Rey or Madeon, both of whom the legend had announced collaborations with.
The first original mix to be showcased from the upcoming LP, “74 Is The New 24” is an original mix which bursts out of the gate, before relenting back to its creator’s disco-tinged roots. If the collaborators who have been announced are any indication, “74 Is The New 24” may be the most aggressive original mix to land on the impending long-player.
