G.O.O.D. Music superstar Big Sean has found a certain niche in the dance music spectrum, either laying solid groundwork for remixes by marquee DJs and producers, or even as a collaborator, alongside the likes of RL Grime and Calvin Harris. Big Sean’s name comes back up this time as his collaboration with Bay Area factotum E-40 “IDFWU” is remixed by Meaux Green.
Green takes the hater-dissing rap track in his own creative direction, substituting textbook hip-hop appeal for a more dance-primed twerk-inspired framework. Sean’s original rendition relies more on the elbows-up, mean mug-ready approach whereas Meaux Green’s remix comes in as a more club appropriate selection. Working in whirling synth layers around Big Sean’s lyrics, with the additional of high frequency glitches and sirens, Meaux Green puts impressively his creative spin on Big Sean and E-40’s joint effort.
Highlighting Big Sean’s evident versatility, Meaux Green turns “IDFWU” into a crisp new twerk tune available now as a free download.
