Above & Beyond shares insight into new album in Google Hangout

While in New York City before their historic performance at Madison Square Garden, Jono, Tony, and Paavo stopped by Google headquarters for an extended interview about their impending album. Revealing insight into how they connect with their fans, themes from the new album, and a plethora of other details about their careers, the interview stretches to almost forty minutes long.

Immediately divulging details on We Are All We Need, Tony McGuiness commented: “It features the most tracks we’ve ever put on an album, 16 tracks.” In regards to its intentions, he said: “It suggests a mutual self reliance as a theme that comes up a lot on the album. It feels like a development from Group Therapy, it’s about what you can achieve with other people.”

Reminiscing on the early days of their careers and how they got started, Paavo commented on technology’s place in their careers: “When we started, big record companies were basically saying we don’t do websites. We really started with the Internet in mind and very early on we had an Internet forum. Then we sold the music as a distribution platform early on, so we sold the music with copyright protection.”

Arriving on January 20th and with three singles already released, We Are All We Need will be the trio’s third studio album and unquestionably one of early 2015’s most anticipated projects.
