Earlier this year, in tandem with (RED)’s AIDS-Free Generation initiative, Avicii teamed up with Haitian hip-hop hero Wyclef Jean to deliver “Divine Sorrow.” Now, South African newcomers NightRider have delivered their own house orientated rendition of Wyclef’s step into the electronic dance arena.
The producer pair have come together to deliver a deeper, more subtle and smoother spin on the track. The remix incorporates groovy, sun-drenched chords that allow the former Fugee’s frontman’s lyrics to freely surface and fade away intermittently. Bold piano notes remain in order to accentuate the hook, but rather than a “hands-in-the-air” break, Nightriders’ remix allows the chorus to ethereally float away. Both forward-thinking, and easy on the ears, the Nightrider duo debuts on fine form with this Balearic house remodel.
