Whether they are officially commissioned or speculatively crafted, Steve James has been responsible for some of the finest remixes on offer in 2014. Just one month after making with his own rendition of HAERTS’ “Giving Up,” the recent album material of Dillon Francis is next on the North American breakout’s agenda, capping an excellent year for his versatile output.

The young Pittsburgh talent has already established a firm melodic stamp, one that is immediately impactful behind the reigns of “When We Were Young.” The original single is refreshed rather than re-recreated, but is ultimately given a new lease of life courtesy of another fine instalment from James. The unveiling of original material is sure to be on the cards for 2015, but if his remixes are anything to go by, Steve James is more than worth the wait.
