Gareth Emery trades touring for ‘daddy duty’ this March
English producer, DJ and label Gareth Emery will be adding one more job description to his already full plate: fatherhood. Emery announced this week via Facebook that he was expecting a little girl this coming March, and that he would be taking the rest of the year off in regards to long touring. In his Facebook post, he explains the reason behind his decision is to fulfill his duties to his wife and his soon-to-be daughter.
“After 10 years of fairly relentless (and fantastic) traveling, next year I want to stay close to home to be a husband + father, rather than 5000 miles away hoping the hotel wi-fi is fast enough to FaceTime my family that day!” he wrote.
Shows in the US and Canada are still fair game, he assured his fans, as he currently lives in Los Angeles.
Fans in Europe will have a few chances to catch him performing abroad before his nine month hiatus, including an all-night set in Manchester, ASOT in Netherlands and a few other festivals.
Gareth intends spend much of his extended stay-cation working in the studio, and hopes to complete the remaining half of his third album during 2015. “I’m excited for the challenge of making it the best music I have ever written.”
