Ultra Music Festival may have just released its Phase 1 lineup
Photos of a “leaked” Ultra Music Festival Phase 1 lineup flyer have been circulating the web today. Though Ultra has yet to officially confirm its legitimacy, no one has been able to formally discredit the lineup either. Furthermore, the festival’s social stream from the past few days substantiates the list of artists billed on the initial phase. In the last 72 hours, Ultra has posted on Cashmere Cat, Eric Prydz, Tensake, Kiesza, Goldroom, Bonobo, Galantis, Yellow Claw, and Gorgon City, all of whom appear on the Phase 1 lineup flyer.
Thus, we may have the first wave of artists from Miami’s massive 3-day festival. If such is the case, it looks to be one of the Ultra’s more promising lineups to date. The first thing evident is the amount of non-EDM artists receiving top billing, from Dixon, to Loco Dice, to Marco Carola and Tale of Us. Add on Adam Beyer, Jamie Jones and Maceo Plex, and UMF has clearly gone out of their way to highlight the stars outside the mainstream mold. Of course, on the more commercially-inclined front, Ultra doesn’t skip a beat: Hardwell, Skrillex, Steve Angello, Tiësto — even the much anticipated festival return of Avicii.
The Live stage is stacked as usual, with Porter Robinson, Odesza, Bassnectar, Gorgon City, RAC and more performing. Below the fold, things get even more interesting. Amid names like Bonobo, Galantis, Tensnake and Joris Voorn, you’ll find legends like John Digweed and Sasha, as well as newcomers like Thomas Jack and Trippy Turtle.
At the end of the day, we may be looking at a very enticing Phase 1 lineup and a clever marketing campaign from Ultra. We’ll confirm the lineup as soon as we’ve heard official word.
