The best reactions to Dada Life’s latest marketing stunt, Dada Death… and some new music
On January 12th, an unknown group called “Dada Death” revealed that they were in possession of a computer that Dada Life allegedly left on a train back in December.
December 15th to be exact.
Coincidentally enough, December 15th is the day that the Dada Death page was started. The page’s first post was at 6:07am. Three hours before Dada Life posted about the missing laptop.
Then on December 19th at 3:34am, the Dada Life page re-iterated that the laptop still had not been found. This was 20 minutes after Dada Death posted a cryptic message about “getting this all started.” The obvious work of the same social media manager.
Today, the Dada Death account uploaded one of the re-worked tracks from the “stolen” laptop dubbed “Tonight, We’re Kids Again.” A 6-minute drum loop slash tech house track that uses one of Dada Life’s unreleased WIPs as a sample, it would seem that the duo’s latest marketing stunt is just a clever way to show off a their new, more dance-focused, side project.
The track has since been removed from Soundcloud and re-appeared on Zippy Share. Fanning the flames on the so-called “controversy.”
Despite the marketing stunt being ridiculously obvious, countless blogs picked up the “news” and sold it to the masses as truth with clickbait titles — pawns in the great EDM hype machine.
The resulting outrage lead to a wave of fans flooding the Dada Death page with vitriolic hate and unwavering support.
Here are our favorite reactions from the latest stunt perpetrated by the duo.
