Robert Dietz launches new label
After you achieve a certain level of success as an artist, some would argue launching a label and taking control of the A&R process is the natural next step. German techno mainstay Robert Dietz has just embarked on that very journey with the launch of Truth Be Told, his own fledgling imprint.
The Berlin-based label owes its namesake to the internet abbreviation ‘TBT,’ and is based on the concept of a “return to vintage form” through experimentation with sounds sans restrictions or pressure. Dietz’s vision for TBT is to open the gates for originality and creativity by creating an open platform for artists to explore new ideas. The label will focus on “music with character” created by both emerging and veteran producers. The label’s first release, the four-track EP TBT001 by Dietz himself, is out now on vinyl. The digital edition is scheduled for release February 16.
