Skrillex & Bonnaroo release teaser for 2014 Superjam documentary
In 2014, the legendary Tennessee farm festival, Bonnaroo, made one of it’s boldest moves when event holders announced that dubstep pioneer, Skrillex, would be hosting the year’s Superjam. Past Superjams have been hosted by My Morning Jacket and Questlove, making 2014 the first year that an electronic artist lead the festival’s coveted event. Many were skeptical of Bonnaroo’s choice as festival lineups across the globe have been slowly become more dominant with electronic music acts. But, the jury was out once the festival closed out it’s 2014 installment and it is safe to say that Skrillex blew fans away with the talent he brought together. It did so well that AT&T Uverse teamed up with Bonnaroo to create a documentary on the musical hybrid superjam.
Skrillex brought together one of the most versatile group of artists for his Superjam with Warpaint, Chance the Rapper, Thundercat, Zedd, Fatman Scoop, Damian Marley, Big Gigantic, and many more. Almost any genre at the festival you can think of was represented at the jam session as Skrillex bridged the gap between electronic music and historic live music. The documentary will be debuted on AT&T’s uverse platform for free on January 20th as a seven part series. Check out the teaser trailer in the header.
