Sónar Barcelona announces 2015 lineup

As far as music festivals go, Sónar Barcelona is one of the most unique. Combining a multi-day technology conference with a finely curated lineup of today’s most forward-thinking musicians, it’s one of the cooler festivals you’ll come across as an electronic music enthusiast. While the festival has since expanded to everywhere from Reykjavik, to Tokyo to São Paulo, Barcelona is its true home.

This year’s billing — as usual — is nothing to sleep on. While the Chemical Brothers were announced early on as the event’s headliners, they’ll be joined by fellow dance music legends Duran Duran as well as Skrillex, Flying Lotus, Die Antwoord, Hot Chip, Cashmere Cat, Jamie xx and more.

We’re still reeling from last year’s Plastikman performance, but it’s hard to deny the prospect of a headlining Chemical Brothers gig. With other announced performances from Siriusmodeselektor — a combination of Siriusmo and Modeselektor — as well as Ten Walls, Autechre, Dubfire (live:hybrid) and The Bug, it’s one of the more intriguing billings to surface this year.
