Bassnectar, Pretty Lights and more create songs for League of Legends

Bassnectar’s music has infiltrated the depths of our culture. From the Superbowl to Madison Square Garden, Lorin Ashton has attained a unique crossover appeal thanks to his accessible yet swag-inducing productions. Now, the revered bass music producer has taken his music to another flourishing space: the gaming community. Teaming up with Renholdër, Bassnectar and the storied rock musician have created “Concussive” for Riot Games’ League of Legends. The thrash-inspired track is something of hybrid between drumstep and rock. With Renholdër’s history of working with Nine Inch Nails and A Perfect Circle in mind, the rock influences run deep in the collaboration.

Pretty Lights is another such artist who transcends the borders of electronic music. With his love for hip hop and jam and his penchant for integrating live musicianship into his shows, the Colorado-native has consistently taken his brand to the next level of visibility. In what seems like a dream collaboration, Pretty Lights and Nosaj Thing have also created a song for League of Legends. The slow, hypnotic beat of “Ethereal” is something out of a fairytale and the perfect contrast to Bassnectar and Renholdër’s “Concussive.”

Lastly, The Crystal Method has teamed up with Dada Life for the most upbeat track of the bunch. Their electro house collaboration “Kinetic” feels finely tailored to the game, thanks to its fantasy-inspired melody and cinematic sound design elements.

All three tracks are available as a free download from Riot Games.
