Chris Lake – Chest (Original Mix)
Typically known for his big room touch, Chris Lake deserves a little more credit than he has been given in the past. With his massive 2011 single, “Sundown,” and chart-topping collaboration “Boneless” with Steve Aoki and Tujamo, the UK producer is no stranger to the dance music scene and has a keen ear for the evolution of its genres. Hopping aboard the deep house train for his latest output, Chris Lake has released one of his most diverse singles to date, “Chest.”
With its repetitive vocal slices, grating synths, and playful percussion work, “Chest” offers a refreshing break from the cookie-cutter deep house track and delivers a small piece of nostalgia from the summer months. It may be going too far to assume that Chris Lake is changing his sound, but he definitely demonstrates his ability to produce outside of his comfort zone.
