Cocaine possibly linked to Ultra Music Festival co-founder Alex Omes’ death
Alex Omes, co-founder of Ultra Music Festival, could not be reached by phone on the first day of his multi-million dollar legal battle with his former business partner, Russell Faibisch. Just hours before his expected court appearance on January 12, Omes had passed away, though the cause of his death is still unclear.
The City of Miami Police Department has listed Alex’s death as “unclassified, ” while the Miami-Dade County Medical Examiner continues to investigate his death as a possible homicide. Few bits of evidence have been available to piece together the reason for Alex Omes’ untimely death, but it has been reported that “1 clear plastic baggie with suspicious cocaine residue” was discovered in his apartment. Meanwhile, the Ultra co-founder was found “unresponsive” in his bed by his apartment’s property manager.
