DA Exclusive: Shapov debuts on Axtone with EP lead ‘Disco Tufli’
Hard Rock Sofa bridged a solid gap between the big room and the big screen within their meteoric rise, but there is new life emerging from their camp at the outset of 2015. Following the success of “Arms Around Me” and a high-streaming remix of Alesso’s “Heroes,” member Alex Shapovalov is adding a brand new solo venture to the equation this month, inaugurating his Shapov moniker with a self-titled debut EP for Axtone.
Fans of Hard Rock Sofa need not despair, for co-founder Denis Chepikov will still be touring the infamous namesake whilst Shapov gears up his new musical project, but the duo is yet to confirm subsequent releases for 2015. True to the label’s obsession with IDs, the ‘Axtone Presents’ podcast will be a first chance for the world to scope some of the cuts to come from this newly formed moniker, with his first EP dropping February 23.
