DA’s Sunday Morning Medicine: Volume 101

Sunday Morning Medicine is a feature from Dancing Astronaut dedicated to the mellower side of electronic music. We bring you our favorite therapeutic selections — old and new — in an attempt to alleviate the agonizing effects of a long weekend of partying.

Last week we celebrated our 100th edition of Sunday Morning Medicine by picking our 10 favorite tracks from the past 100 volumes. To kick off the next 100, we’ve got a brand new edition featuring everything from sensual garage to playa-approved techno.

1. Diversa falls somewhere along the lines of future garage and 2-step — or whatever else his limitless imagination is conjuring up at the time. “Wonderlust” has a hip hop flair to it that we can’t seem to shake.

2. Mr FijiWiji just launched a smooth new EP, Growing Up, and “Yours Truly” is its sexy garage finale.

3. Elénne’s latest original, “Between Us,” is simply stunning. Forget genres — attempting to classify this one would only take away from its articulate beauty.

4. Life & Death heavyweights Mind Against make techno for the mind and soul. “Strange Days” from their EP of the same name is a nearly nine-minute cerebral journey.

5. You can never go wrong with anything on Hernan Cattaneo’s Sudbeat imprint, and Dave Seaman’s latest is a late-night (or in this case, early morning) bomb.

Check out our centennial edition of SMM for a retrospective on some of our best therapeutic selections from the past two years.
