Dmitry Morozov spearheads ‘Reading My Body’ project; create music with the tattoos on your body
Dmitry Morozov is an artist, musician and engineer hailing from Moscow. ::vtol:: is his creation: a sound controller that reads the tattoos on your body and plays music. The controller also allows users to implement sounds through the up and down motion of your arm, courtesy of a built-in 3D Wii remote controller
Morozov describes the instrument as one that “combines human body and robotic system[s] into a single entity that is designed to automate creative process[es] in an attempt to represent the artist and his instrument as a creative hybrid.” The tool is fashioned with a metal railing, hand controllers, black line sensors and a stepper motor that allows it to glide across the arm.
