Housing Corp. and NSR may be best known for energetic DJ sets that effortlessly touch on every kind of house and disco, but they love rap as much as any New York City DJ. They were immediately taken with Drake‘s If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late and felt compelled to put a house spin on “10 Bands,” their favorite song from the mixtape. On the remix, they craft a dark, mysterious instrumental that yields an entirely new energy while staying true to the sound of the original. And though they use his vocals sparingly, the track still has the unmistakable feel of a Drake song. Housing Corp. and NSR’s deep understanding of both house and rap serves them well: “10 Bands (NSR & Housing Corp.’s Kevin Durant Mix)” is a perfectly executed remix, and it’s a must-download heading into the weekend.
