Jeff Bridges creates Sleeping Tapes to help the restless sleep easier
In addition to being an actor, country musician and producer, Jeffrey Leon “Jeff” Bridges has added another title to his resume: savior to the restless. His recent project, a collection of ‘Sleeping Tapes’ he recorded and shared on Squarespace, aims at aiding “restless people in need of rest.” Recorded by Bridges himself, the Sleeping Tapes feature a range of interesting sounds, noises and other elements, all designed to help the listener drift off into slumber. Among the sounds are soothing chimes, soft drums, forest animals and Bridges’ own voice reading poetry, mumbling seemingly random phrases or going off into mysterious monologues. To first time listeners, the tapes may seem more eerie than soothing, but if you give it a few minutes and keep an open mind, you might find something oddly calming about the recordings’ strangeness. The tapes can be purchased in physical or digital form here on Squarespace.
100% of the retail price from each album will go directly to No Kid Hungry, which aims at eliminated childhood hunger in America.
