Mau5trap We Are Friends Vol.3 features Fehrplay, Proxxy, Pig&Dan, ATTLAS and more

Joel Zimmerman’s mau5trap imprint has served as a launching point for top-notch talent over the years. After all, it was the label where Skrillex and Feed Me got their start — two of the scene’s most brilliant minds. Now, the imprint returns with mau5trap Vol.3, the third compilation in the We Are Friend series.

Volume 3 features a conspicuous change in direction. The imprint has swapped charging electro for tenacious tech house and techno courtesy of artists like EEKKO, Fehrplay, and Matt Lange. Underground titans Pig&Dan make an unexpected apperance, fostering the deepest cut of the compilation. Of course, the electro and progressive stylings that the label has gained its namesake on have not been lost. Heat Maxwell, Enzo Bennet and Reid aptly fill the void.

Lastly, there’s the mysterious ATTLAS who kicks off the compilation. Little is known about the enigmatic producer who first appeared on our radar with an official remix of deadmau5’s “Aural Psynapse.” In fact, many have even gone as far to speculate that the man is Joel Zimmerman himself producing under a new alias. The comparison is easy enough to make: ATTLAS’s music employs a similar minimal aesthetic mixed with grander progressive tendencies. With literally zero information on any of his social channels, the mystery looks to be sustained for a bit longer.

Mau5trap noted of the new compilation:

“this month it gives us great pleasure to bring you the third installment of our We Are Friends concept. since day one, the compilation series has focused on giving exposure to new and exciting artists from all over the globe. vol 3 continues on that path. we’ll be introducing you to some fresh faces, but we’ve got some of our moar established mau5trap fam on there too. big thanks to all our artists for getting involved, and a little shout out to ATTLAS for the minimix trailer. no pre-orders or any of that jazz this time round; release date for the compilation is Monday 16th Feb, and it will be available on all your favourite purchasing and streaming sites. we hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed putting it together.”
