Porter Robinson nominated for Artist of the Year at the MTVu Woodies

Producer-auteur Porter Robinson had an impressive 2014. An ambitious album, an even more ambitious tour, Robinson’s past 12 months have been a highlight reel of career-defining moments. Although The Grammys failed to acknowledge Porter or his paradigm-shifting ‘Worlds,’ MTV’s Woodies has given the young producer a proper nod as one of the year’s best artists. Porter is in contention for Artist of the Year against an eclectic and star-studded roster of talent that includes J. Cole, Sam Smith, Charli XCX, Run the Jewels, and FKA Twigs.

Kygo also earns a nod for Best Emerging Artist, while Skrillex’s Superjam at Bonnaroo is nominated for a Next Level Performance Woodie, an award that acknowledges artists who have found new ways to reach their audience.

The MTVu Woodie Festival and Awards ceremony will be held in Austin at SXSW, Friday March 20th.
