SXSW recognizes larger spectrum of electronic music artists in 2015

Electronic music continues to grow in areas where its presence was at one point almost non-existent. As music festivals around the country make more of an effort to recognize the DJs and producers who have helped cultivate a cultural movement, artists falling under the dance/electronic category have more of a shot than ever to make it to the biggest events of the year.

SXSW in particular has tackled the film and music industries since 1987, taking the initiative to shed light on both established and emerging scenes. As the annual Austin-based series of conferences, showcases and trade shows prepares for its 2015 run, the electronic music genre reigns supreme with an expanded programming scheduled for next month. The showcase will include larger names like Odesza, Ryan Hemsworth and Clean Bandit, but will also pave the way for up-and-comers Elias Mazian, Cinnaman, Sliink, UNiiQU3, SOPHIE and Lena Willikens.

Attendees interested in learning more about the business of dance music are also invited to attend an array of panels such as Equality for Women in Dance Music, Digital DJs Meet Up and The Un-Distortion of Sound – What’s Next.
